Launched in New York in 2012, Awake NY was created by Angelo Baque, a Queens native, and reflects the diversity that shapes the city’s five boroughs. The collections draw inspiration from the eclectic downtown New York of the early 1990s, combining refined silhouettes, US-made essentials and tailoring pieces that have become key staples such as vests, coats and suits. As the brand expands, community engagement remains central, with ongoing collaborations with Building Black Bed-Stuy, Children of Promise, NICE, Sky High Farm and Scope of Work. Awake NY also develops creative partnerships with Levi’s, Carhartt WIP, ASICS, Vans, Reebok, Moncler and Nanamica, reinforcing its role as a leading voice on the New York scene.
