In 2008, Emmanuelle de Gérin set up her workshop in the heart of the Nîmes countryside, an inspiring, bright and contemporary place, where bracelets, earrings, necklaces and pendants are imagined and crafted. About ten artisans pierce, string, enamel, braid and shape each piece of jewelry by hand. She sources her beads from Thailand, India and especially Mali, where she meets Boubacar, whose family has been in the bead trade for 200 years. These beads are ancient trade beads mostly made in Murano, Italy, which she mixes with 2-micron 24-carat brass, silver-plated and with gemstones such as Tourmaline, African Turquoise, Labradorite, Agate, Quartz... By Garance bracelets are colorful or monochromatic, in shades and unique, sometimes bohemian, sometimes rock but always refined.
