Gilda Midani is a Brazilian designer who creates elegant and comfortable women's ready-to-wear pieces made from high-quality, hand-dyed cotton, silk, and linen. Her aesthetic draws on the intersection of ancient cultures, contemporary art, and European sophistication, giving rise to original and timeless pieces. After an artistic career that began as a photographer in Brazil, then as an editorial producer in New York and costume designer for the Weimar and Graz opera houses, she launched her first eponymous collection in 2004. Inspired by techniques such as Indonesian batik and Japanese shibori, she also experiments with dyes made from charcoal, copper, and gypsum. Her fluid, organic silhouettes in vibrant colors reflect a fashion that is artistic, natural, and lively.
