LAKAI Limited Footwear is a skate shoe company founded in 1999 by Mike Carroll and Rick Howard, two professional skateboarders and recognized pioneers in the field. Before creating LAKAI, Carroll and Howard were already co-founders of the skateboard brand Girl Skateboards. They felt the need to launch a shoe brand that would authentically reflect the skateboarding culture and meet the specific requirements of skaters. LAKAI quickly set itself apart through its commitment to innovation, quality, and design in collaboration with skaters.
