Founded in 2016 by Lily Atherton Hanbury and Katya Shyfrin, Le Monde Béryl draws inspiration from the integrity and purity of traditional Venetian gondolier slippers, ballerinas, and riding boots. Designed to combine functionality, movement, and beauty, the shoes are sustainably made in Italy and hand-finished by master artisans. Born from a desire to create a wardrobe of elegant flat shoes with a clean, refined design, the collections draw on diverse references: cinema, modern art, Greek antiquity, architecture, and furniture. The brand’s name, borrowed from the beryl gemstone family, evokes a spectrum of colors that shapes its palette. With a production approach inspired by minimal waste, Le Monde Béryl reimagines artisanal heritage to offer timeless classics, crafted to endure.
