At Mama Praia, craftsmanship and creativity come together to bring unique sandals to life, made in small batches in their Majorelle blue workshop in Lisbon. The brand was founded in 2018 by Marie, who was later joined by Alexandre, who helped restore the old machines used with passion to design each pair. After modest beginnings in Normandy, the project moved to Portugal, where everything is done in-house, from the initial sketch to the finished pair. Mama Praia limits production to 3,000 pairs per year, made from exceptional leathers sourced from European tanneries, often vegetable-tanned, and soles that are also vegetable-tanned. Their iconic Fisherman sandal is now sold in concept stores such as Le Bon Marché and worn by women in search of rare, authentic pieces full of soul.
