Merz b. Schwanen is a German clothing brand founded in 1911 by Balthasar Merz, initially specializing in the production of high-quality cotton undergarments. The small factory, located in the Swabian Jura, continues the tradition of artisan manufacturing with historic circular knitting machines. After decades of inactivity, the brand was relaunched in 2011 by Peter Plotnicki, who rediscovered the old machines and decided to revive this tradition. Merz b. Schwanen distinguishes itself through its commitment to authenticity, sustainability, and craftsmanship, using classic production techniques to create comfortable and timeless clothing that combines simplicity and quality.
