Snow Peak

Description

Founded in 1958 by Yukio Yamai in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, Snow Peak was born out of his passion for mountaineering and his dissatisfaction with the equipment available at the time. Drawing on the expertise of Tsubame-Sanjo craftsmen, he developed innovative gear that laid the foundation for a family-run adventure. In 1980, his son Tohru took over and steered the brand toward camping, creating iconic products such as the Amenity Dome tent and the Takibi Fire & Grill. In 2014, his daughter Lisa expanded the brand with a line of technical apparel. Now established in both Japan and the U.S., Snow Peak combines gear, clothing and experiences to reconnect people with nature.
