Umbro is a British sportswear brand founded in 1924 by brothers Harold and Wallace Humphreys in Wilmslow, England. Initially, Umbro primarily produced football uniforms. The brand quickly gained recognition by providing gear for high-level football teams, including English Premier League clubs and national teams. In the 1960s and 1970s, Umbro introduced textile innovations that transformed sports equipment. The company also expanded its product range to include casual sportswear and footwear. In 2007, Umbro was acquired by Nike, boosting its global visibility before being sold to Iconix Brand Group in 2012.
